Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov - A chance to see this fine production starring Toby Jones in the cinema.
Conor McPherson's version of Chekhov's play directed by Ian Rickson starring Toby Jones opened in London in January of this year and was scheduled to run until 2 May - but it was a Covid casualty. The cast, with Roger Allam replacing Ciaran Hinds, remains the same. It is a film, not a film of what happened on stage and is being screened in selected cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland. www.unclevanya.com should provide the necessary information. It won very good reviews, the Guardian describing it as "perfect Chekhov." Since coming to London, virus or no virus, is often not possible for most people here is a chance to see Jones and the others on top form.
