Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo adapted by Simon Reade - the Garrick Theatre, London - William Russell

This two character version of the novel will run at the Garrick theatre, London for two weeks from 7 to 20 November with a Gala performance on 11 November in aid of the Royal British Legion and Farms for City Children. A Barn Theatre, Cirencester production, it will have had four performances at the Bristol before coming to London. The picture shows Morpurgo with the cast, Emily Costello, whop lays Private Tommo, the young First World War soldier waiting to face a firing squad, and James Demaine, director Alexander Knott and associated director and movement Zoe Grain in Iddesleigh, North Devon with Morpurgo and where he wrote the novel.
