I could, of course, wait until press night or until, if it is on line, to review these but planning ahead is not a bad idea so this way you are alerted to a few available entertainments you might watch or attend.
So here goes:-
The Haunting of Alice Bowles - The Original Stage Company
This will stream from 17 December at 7.30pm. Adapted by Philip Fraks from the story by M.R.James it stars Tamsin Outhwaite, Max Bowden, Jack Archer, Alexandra Guelff,Robert Mountford, Poppy Roe and Tim Treloar and will be directed by Franks and Alastair Whatley, the company's artistic director.

If you buy before 30 November it costs £12.50 - after that it will cost %18 and there are other offers if you want to support the company. A ghost story for all the family - what would Christmas be without them but instead of gathering round the fire you gather round your screen.
Charing Cross Theatre
The Elf who was scared of Christmas - The Charing Cross Theatre, Villiers Street, London box office 0844 930 650 and on line charingcrosstheatre.co.uk.
This is for children of all ages and the performances run from 8 December until 23 December - two performances a day, times vary slightly but most are at 11.30 am and 1.30pm. It runs for an hour.
It tells the story of two of Santa's elves, Figgy and Cupcake. Figgy, played by Gina Beck, has developed a fear of Christmas. Figgy, played by Ryan Molloy, tries to help hertp overcome her problems and in doing so overcomes some of his own. It is an all singing - lots of familiar Christmas songs - and dancind show.
Upstairs at the Gatehouse
Forever PLaid directed by John Plews with choreography by Racky Plews.
This tale of four guys who sing in a group, is set in the 50s, has songs of the time to delight, and is a past Gatehouse favourite - it runs from 16 December until 24 January Tues to Sat 7.30pm and matinee on Sundays.
