You cannot keep a good girl away from a dance or a handsome prince. Nottingham Playhouse plans to stage a specially adapted pantomime from the 27 November wit tickets going on sale from 6 November. It will, all being well, run until 16 January 2021. It replaces Beauty and the Beast and priority booking for existing ticket holders for that will open on 8 October.
There will be no interval, the pantomime will run for 75 minutes, social distancing will be observed ans fanily groups of six will be allowed to sit together. Face coverings will be worn by everyone over the age of 11. Full details can be found on the theatre's web site.
It has been written and will be directed by Adam Penford, artistic director of the Playhouse, and the cast will include John Elkington and Tom Hopcroft as the Ugly Sisters, Tim Frater as Button, Max Runham as Charming, Sarah Poyzer as the Fairy Godmother, Jessica Lee as Dandini and Gabrielle Brooks as Cinders.
For those who cannot attend in person there will be live screened performances.

Adam Penford said that Christmas in Nottingham would not be the same without a Playhouse panto. It was part of the city's cultural calendar. Changes would be made to ensure safety was paramount but it would contain all the fun, magic and festive cheer of the classic Playhouse panto.
